Shape abnormalities in children are frequent, so their study is important to clarify diagnoses since they can have different dental implications. It is possible to recognize an accessory cusp or tubercle called Carabelli (CT) in the mesiopalatine cusp of the temporary upper second molars, permanent upper first molars, and less frequently in the permanent upper second molars. Aim: To determine the prevalence of the Carabelli´s tubercle (CT) in patients of the Clinical and Orientation Service from the Quinquela Martín Hospital of Pediatric dentistry (HOI) Government of Buenos Aires City- Aires, Argentina. Regarding its etiology, determine if there is any relationship with the ethnic origin of the family. For this reason, the variable nationality of the parents was incorporated to examine the possible link between the presence of CT and the ethnic origin of the patient. Methods and Result: A sample of 363 children who were admitted for the first time to the Clinical and Orientation Service of the HOI between the period of August 2019 and March 2020 was evaluated. Results: The prevalence of CT observed was 34% in at least some teeth, with a greater tendency in the male gender of 55% and 45% in the female. Conclusions: The hypothesis proposed was that the prevalence of CT in patients attending the HOI is less than 50% and it was validated because 34% of patients present CT
