Abstract

Tetralogy of Fallot is the most common cyanotic congenital heart disease; its incidence is 0.08% affecting approximately 1 in every 8,500 live births. It has four main characteristics: ventricular septal defect, right ventricular outflow tract obstruction, right ventricular hypertrophy and overriding aorta. Congenital heart disease represent a challenge for the pediatric dentist, the stomatological management in this type of patients requires knowledge and skills. Minimally Invasive Dentistry offers us to maintain healthy dental structures, modifying habits, treatments with minimal wear of dental structures without the need for anesthesia, nor the use of a turbine helping us modify the patient's behavior with the purpose of achieving the adequate condition of the oral cavity. The purpose of this report is to describe the dental management with minimally invasive dentistry in a 5 year old female patient with a diagnosis of tetralogy of Fallot.
